Section: Camera Usage

1. Information We Collect and Why

Camera Access: Our App requires access to your device’s camera to provide the core functionality of importing events and tasks from physical documents.

  • Purpose: The camera is used solely to capture images of text (e.g., flyers, handwritten notes, or printed schedules) for the purpose of Optical Character Recognition (OCR).

  • Usage: The App processes the image to identify dates, times, and event descriptions to automatically populate your calendar or task list.

2. Data Handling & Storage

  • Local Processing: [Option A: If processing happens on-device] Images captured via the camera are processed locally on your device. We do not upload, store, or share the actual image files to our servers.

  • Cloud Processing: [Option B: If you use a cloud API like Google Vision] Images are transmitted securely to our processing partner [e.g., Google Cloud Vision] for the sole purpose of text extraction. These images are not stored permanently and are deleted immediately after the text is extracted.

  • Personal Data: We do not use the camera to capture biometric data, facial recognition, or any information unrelated to the event-extraction feature.

3. User Control

You can grant or revoke camera permissions at any time through your Android device settings. However, revoking this permission will prevent the "Scan Document" feature from functioning.
